Trabalhando inicialmente com o arquitecto Ralph Adams Cram, William começou a produzir vitrais que rivalizavam com o que de melhor havia nas catedrais europeias.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"  style="font-size:small;"&gt;&lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p&gt;&lt;span style=""&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"  style="font-size:small;"&gt;Em 1910, foi convidado a apresentar uma proposta para a janela do coro da Capela dos Cadetes da Academia de West Point. A vitória neste concurso, seleccionou os Willet Studios para projectarem e executarem todos os vitrais da magnífica catedral. Foram 66 anos de intenso trabalho.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"  style="font-size:small;"&gt;&lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p&gt;&lt;span style=""&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"  style="font-size:small;"&gt;Durante a II Guerra Mundial, os vitrais nos Estados Unidos foram negligenciados, com o metal e o vidro a serem racionados devido ao esforço de guerra. Em 1946, após o fim do conflito, em Winona, Minnesota, James E. Hauser viu uma oportunidade de negócio, e fundou a Art Glass Company com o objectivo de ajudar a recuperar, restaurar e proteger todo um vastíssimo património que, após alguns anos de estrangulamento económico, se encontrava completamente degradado. &lt;/span&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"  style="font-size:small;"&gt;&lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p&gt;&lt;span style=""&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"  style="font-size:small;"&gt;Em Filadélfia, Henry Lee Willet, filho de William, assumiu a direcção do estúdio após a morte do pai. Sob a sua orientação a empresa expandiu-se e internacionalizou-se. Na década de cinquenta, foi um dos primeiros ateliers a utilizar “billets” na execução de janelas, a laminar vitrais e desenvolveu uma exclusiva e refinada técnica que lhe trouxe grande notoriedade: a &lt;/span&gt;&lt;span style="mso-spacerun: yes"&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"  style="font-size:small;"&gt; &lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"  style="font-size:small;"&gt;janela esculpida em ouro.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;span style="mso-spacerun: yes"&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"  style="font-size:small;"&gt;  &lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;u&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"  style="font-size:small;"&gt;&lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/u&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p&gt;&lt;span style=""&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"  style="font-size:small;"&gt;Sob a liderança de Henry Lee Willet, os Willet Studios tornaram-se conhecidos e respeitados em todo o mundo.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"  style="font-size:small;"&gt;&lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p&gt;&lt;span style=""&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"  style="font-size:small;"&gt;Ao mesmo tempo, no Winona, a Hauser Art Glass Company continua a crescer, especializando-se nos pequenos formatos. Em 1960, começou a criar, a preços moderados, janelas para&lt;/span&gt;&lt;span style="mso-spacerun: yes"&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"  style="font-size:small;"&gt;  &lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"  style="font-size:small;"&gt;igrejas de bairro, hotéis, restaurantes e casas privadas. &lt;/span&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"  style="font-size:small;"&gt;&lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p&gt;&lt;span style=""&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"  style="font-size:small;"&gt;Em 1965, Crosby Willet, neto do fundador, tornou-se o terceiro presidente dos Willet Studios. Sob o seu comando, foram executados vitrais para as maiores igrejas e catedrais americanas, incluindo a National Cathedral de Washington DC e a Saint Mary's Cathedral, em São Francisco.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p&gt;&lt;span style=""&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"  style="font-size:small;"&gt;Em 1977, os Willet Studios tornaram-se uma divisão da Hauser Art Glass Company, e esta tranformou-se no maior atelier de vitral da américa do norte.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p&gt;&lt;span style=""&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"  style="font-size:small;"&gt;Em 1994, James E. Hauser aposentou-se, deixando a continuação da tradição de excelência nas mãos dos &lt;/span&gt;&lt;span style="mso-spacerun: yes"&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"  style="font-size:small;"&gt; &lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"  style="font-size:small;"&gt;seus dois filhos, James e Michael que conduziram a empresa a um novo patamar de &lt;/span&gt;&lt;span style="mso-spacerun: yes"&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"  style="font-size:small;"&gt; &lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"  style="font-size:small;"&gt;desenvolvimento e inovação. &lt;/span&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"  style="font-size:small;"&gt;&lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt; O desenvolvimento na construção e manutenção de pequenos fornos e muflas, permitiu, pela segunda vez, uma autêntica explosão de criatividade.
